Kate Nash is a 23 year old singer, best known for her top ten single 'Foundations'. Nash was born in London, England and it was during high school that she learnt how to play the piano. After high school, Nash enrolled at Brit School for Performing Arts and Technology. However, Nash also auditioned for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School but failed due to an accident during the audition which lead to her breaking her leg. Being housebound, her mother bought her an electric guitar and with more time on her hands, Nash focused on song writing and was able to do a performance at her local bar.
After finding a manager, the singer soon released her debut single 'Caroline's a Victim' though it was limited to 1000 copies and available only on 7" vinyl. Due to popular demand a 1000 more copies were made, which too sold out. Promotional copies were also made to be distributed to DJs and the media. A video for the song was made and the video was to get broadcast on MTV2.
It was in 2007 that she released the song 'Foundations'. 3 Months later her album 'Made of Bricks' was released and the album went to #1 on the music charts also well as being a commercial success.
